C13-14 Isoparaffin is a branched-chain saturated hydrocarbon assessed by the CIR Expert Panel in a 2012 group review of isoparaffins (IJT 31(S3):269-295), which concluded it is safe for cosmetic use without qualification. As a member of the isoparaffins class, it shares the group's low dermal penetration, negligible systemic absorption, and absence of genotoxicity or reproductive toxicity signals identified in the group assessment.
